30 November 2011 — First batch of Sunday photos available for viewing!

It's taken us over two weeks, but we've managed to sort through the many thousands of photographs taken on Sunday at the Rumble, and we think we've put together a pretty good selection.

Our thanks go out to Gordon Kyd, the Regals' official event photographer, who braved the heat to get these pics, and then spent hours sorting through them to find the best. I think you'll have to agree that there are some excellent photos there.

Click here to take a look.

There are more photos coming soon too!

14 November 2011 — Thanks to everyone!

That's it for another year, and our thanks go out to everyone who helped make the weekend a success. Over the next day or two we will be posting photos, details of all the winners and event attendance numbers. Of course, even without those attendance numbers, you could easily see it was a massive turnout on both days.

Thank you to everyone who got behind the event, with special mention to those who travelled interstate.

And now the planning starts for next year!

13 November 2011 — Time for the main event!

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday, and thanks for making it such a fun day. It was a fantastic success, with a huge turnout of people and cars at the Museum of Fire, and at Harry's Cafe de Wheels. It was “attack of the Mopars” out at Liverpool last night!

We managed to raise a whole bunch of money for the Museum of Fire, as well as the RSPCA. We'll post final figures shortly.

Today's forecast is for another dry and partly cloudy day for racing, so it should be a full day of Mopar vs Mopar drag racing action! Once again, we'll be posting updates and piccies on our Facebook page today, so check it out!

BE THERE!!!!!

12 November 2011 — It’s on!

For those of you who have been living on a deserted island, today is the first day of the Mopar Rumble 2011. Today's events comprise of a friendly meet 'n' greet, starting at 1pm at the Museum of Fire, 1 Museum Drive, Penrith, and is open for everyone of all ages, and to all cars (not just the Mopars). We're also putting on a free sausage sandwich and a can of drink for all who attend. The only cost is a gold coin donation on entry, to help support the Museum of Fire and all the good work they do.

At around 4pm, we're all packing up and going for a leisurely cruise to Sydney's premiere Saturday night cruise destination, Harry's Cafe de Wheels at Liverpool. It should be a great night, so come and join us for a pie!

The forecast is for a dry and partly cloudy day, so come out and be a part of the Mopar Rumble 2011! We'll be posting updates and piccies on our Facebook page, so check it out!

11 November 2011 — Don't forget to bring the family!

Just a reminder that on Sunday kids aged 12–16 get into the Sydney Dragway for just $10, and kids under 12 get in for FREE! Not only that, we'll have a jumping castle and face painting between 10am and 2pm for the kids to enjoy.

It'll be a great day for everyone!

11 November 2011 — Competitor Pre Entries

We have received reports that some people have had trouble pre-entering the Mopar Rumble 2011. Unfortunately, the online pre-entry system is controlled entirely by Sydney Dragway, and as such, we are powerless to change or improve this pre-entry process.

On behalf of the Mopar Rumble organisational committee, we would like to apologize to anyone who has had difficulties, and we would also like to remind you that you can pay at the gate on Sunday. We are sure than any problems that have been encountered will soon be forgotten once the event gets underway!

11 November 2011 — LIQUIMOLY Burnout Comp Prizes

As an incentive to enter the burnout comp, we are now offering 2 LIQUIMOLY prize packs along with the winner and runner up trophies.

The winner of the burnout comp receives a LIQUIMOLY pack valued at $250, and the runner up receives a pack valued at $150!

We can’t wait to see the action on the burnout pad!

10 November 2011 — Mopar Rumble Exhibition Tent Being Built

Hi all, just a quick message to let everyone know that construction of a new exhibition tent is now underway and will be ready to use by Saturday afternoon. The new tent has the same proportions as the old one, the only difference being a 2.4m height.

From the Mopar Rumble team.

3 November 2011 — Frequently Asked Questions

We're taking the opportunity to publish some of the most common questions we are getting, along with the answers. We recommend that everyone planning to go to the event (either as spectator of competitor) should have a read.

Q. Where is the Mopar Rumble being held?

A. The Mopar Rumble takes place at 3 DIFFERENT venues, over the 2 days of the event. They are as follows:

Saturday 12th November:

1pm to 4pm

4pm 'til late

Museum of Fire, 1 Museum Drive, Penrith NSW 2750

cruise from Museum of Fire to Harry's Cafe de Wheels,
Orange Grove Road, Liverpool NSW 2170

Sunday 13th November:

8.30am to 5pm

Sydney Dragway, Ferrers Road, Eastern Creek NSW 2766

Q. How do I enter?

A. Online via the Sydney Dragway website, or enter on the day.

Entry to the event on Sunday is handled by Sydney Dragway on their website. To enter, you must create an account, then login with your new account details, then you can pre-enter the Mopar Rumble. Please be aware that if you want to enter burnouts AND drags, you must enter twice: first with your relevant drag racing backet (Slant, Hemi 6, Small Block, Big Block, Hemi V8, New Gen Hemi or Modern), then with "Burnout". If you want to enter the burnouts, but not the drag racing, you need to select "Burnouts ONLY". And if you are only showing your car and don't want to race or burnout, just select "Show n Shine only". We apologise if this is a bit confusing.

Q. I don't want to race my car. Is this event for me?

A. Yes!

Not only is this a drag racing event, it is also a static car show, with pro judging and people's choice trophies on offer. If you own a Chrysler-powered vehicle, either new or old, in any condition, you are welcome to show your car on the day, with absolutely no pressure to race. Additionally, there will be a dedicated pit cruise circuit going all day. Grab your mates or family, and cruise the pit area in your ride anytime you like. Not enough cruising for you? Well then you’ll want to join the House of Kolor Super Cruise when all racing stops, and we cruise our cars down the drag strip and back via the return road! There really is something for everyone.

Q. Can I enter the drag racing/burnouts/show 'n' shine on the day?

A. Yes.

For those who don't have internet access, or a credit card, you can enter at the competitor entry gates on the day. However, we would encourage all those intending to race to pre-enter, to assist us in planning the day's racing, and to save time on the day.

Q. Is there a Friday night meet 'n' greet this year?

A. The meet and greet is now on Saturday.

Feedback from last year's event made it clear that there was just way too much happening over the weekend for everyone to be able to attend everything. So in an attempt to make the event more accessible to as many people as possible (and for the preservation of the sanity of the event organisers), we have altered the format slightly. We have scaled-down the events on Saturday into a nice, social meet 'n' greet, rather than a car show. All makes and models of car are welcome on the Saturday, not just the Mopars. There are no trophies or formalities on Saturday, just an opportunity for everyone to have fun and socialise over a free sausage sandwich. This is then followed by a cruise to Harry's Cafe de Wheels at Liverpool.

Q. Did you say a “free sausage sandwich” on Saturday?

A. Yes.

The Saturday sausage sizzle at the Museum of Fire, Penrith is on us!

Q. What do I need to race my car?

A. Standard ANDRA scrutineering rules apply.

Drivers: vehicles running 11.99 seconds or quicker (¼ mile) must hold an ANDRA Super Street License as a minimum.

Helmets: All vehicles to have a helmet that reaches one of the following standards, Snell SA2000, SA2005, SFI31.2A, Snell M2000, M2005, SFI 41.2A, BS 6658-1985, AS/NZS 1698:2006 or AN/NZS 1698.

Clothing: Long-sleeved upper garment and long pants. Fully enclosed shoes and socks.

Your vehicle: Ensure all fluids can be contained within the vehicle. Tail shaft loops for cars running quicker than 12.99 seconds (¼ mile). Minimum 3-point lap sash safety belt.

All vehicles are subject to scrutineering before being permitted to race or burnout. For further information regarding competitor requirements, see the Sydney Dragway website.

Q. What sort of drag racing competition is it? Who will I be racing against?

A. Race whoever you want.

Basically it’s grudge racing for most of the day, then the 4 quickest reaction times for each category, (Slant 6, Hemi 6, Small Block, Big Block, New Gen Hemi and Modern), will dial in and then run in a semi final. The two winners face off for the first place and runner up trophy. The advantage of basing the drag racing competition on reaction times is that no matter how slow or quick your vehicle is, or how little or much money you’ve spent on it, you have a chance at the running in the finals, and it’s all based on how quick you can cut a light. Good Luck!

Q. Is there a Dyno comp?

A. Yes, but the dyno comp is on Sunday this year.

As part of making Sunday's event even bigger than last year, we've moved the Dyno competition to the Sydney Dragway on Sunday. The Dyno comp is open to all Chrysler-powered vehicles, new and old. Entry is $40, paid on the day.

Q. I've never been to a car show like this. What can I expect?

A. A full day jam-packed with entertainment!

The Mopar Rumble is a fun day out for all. We have drag racing, car shows with pro-judging, burnouts, dyno competition, jumping castle for the kids, a 1,600 m² undercover trade hall packed with trade stands, super cruise and more. All this for just $25 per adult, $10 for kids (12-16yrs), and free for kids under 12. Where else can you get that much entertainment for such a small price?

Q. What happens if it rains?

A. Check our website on the day.

We will be posting current updates on our website on the day. Even with the miserable weather of last year's event, we still managed 3 hours of drag racing. So first thing on Sunday morning, before you even look out the window, check our website. If the event is still on, get your butts to the dragway! As long as we can get some racing in, the event will go ahead!

29 October 2011 — Vote and Win!

Simply vote for your favorite car at the Mopar Rumble Show 'n' Shine, and you immediately go in the draw to win a fabulous 1:32 Scalextric Thundering V8s slot car set valued at $299.95. Second prize is a Mopar Rumble pack consisting of T-shirts, a DVD, stickers and more!

Voting forms will be handed out to all entrants and spectators on the day.

28 October 2011 — Hurstune Dyno

Andrew from Hurstune will be running the dyno all day Sunday at Sydney Dragway, right next to the trade hall. Strap your ride down on the rollers, and see what she’s got!

Trophies include:

• Slant 6
• Hemi 6
• Small block
• Big block

• Forced 6
• Forced 8
• New Gen Hemi
• HP Hero

24 October 2011 — Easton Motor Sports

Steve Easton and his family are doing the long haul down from Brisbane and they’re bringing their 526ci Hemi powered 92 Dodge Daytona funny car down to the Rumble. This awesome looking race car ran a 6.54 @ Mopar Sunday earlier this year.

23 October 2011 — Team Mopar Australia

We can confirm the attendance of Lee Bektash and Team Mopar Australia at Mopar Rumble 2011. Lee will be racing his Pro Stock Dodge Stratus, the fastest Pro Stock car in the land. Lee is looking to trump the national record at this event. Will we see Australia’s first 6 second Pro Stock pass?

Additionally, the Mopar merchandise caravan will be on site right near the trade stand, so bring your spare cash with you!

22 October 2011 — Show 'n' Shine Pro Judging

After listening to feedback from last year's event we have decided to introduce pro judging to Mopar Rumble, and are proud to announce Drago Ostric of Sefton Smash fame and builder of Summernats 17 Grand Champion TD Gemini Wagon as our Judge for the event.

The trophies are for Top 5 Us and Top 5 Oz.

There is no additional charge for pro judging. Just let the marshals know as you enter the competitors’ entrance. They will issue you with a window sticker, and guide you to park in the judging area. Leave your bonnet open and your doors unlocked. Judging will occur between 9.00am and 11.00am. Once your car has been judged, the sticker on your windscreen will be ticked, and you are free to join the racing, or cruise the pits in our special pit cruise circuit.

Additionally, there are 10 people's choice trophies on offer along with the 10 pro judged trophies. Each trophy recipient will also receive a Meguiars care car pack valued at over $80!

21 October 2011 — Drag Racing Competition Rules

For those of you interested in racing we’ve decided in conjunction with Sydney Dragway to base the drag racing competition on reaction times (i.e. driver skill).

The advantage of this method is that no matter how slow or quick your vehicle is, or how little or much money you’ve spent on it, you have a chance at the running in the finals, and it’s all based on how quick you can cut a light. Good Luck!

21 September 2011 — Online Entry Now Open

We at the Regals Mopar Car Club would like to formally invite competitors and spectators to enter in this year’s Mopar Rumble.

Pre entry forms are now online at the Sydney Dragway website. The first 150 pre entrants will receive an event goody bag loaded with cool stuff! Please visit our competitors page to find out more!
